One of the hardest things in China, is getting access to FB. For some reason, the VPN connects to instagram more easily than FB. Finally found a way to get to FB to share more stuff.
This is one of the 85KG lifters. He's been doing training his upper body (shoulder, back, triceps) and trunk (abs, lumbar, TVA, core) for over a year because of his knee injury. All bodybuilding reps, tons of pulls, dips, presses, rows, no squats.
Recently came back and this is his first heavy cycle. They have an adjustment/technical cycle, a building cycle, and finally a heavy cycle. This is his first time completing an entire cycle in over a year.
His max snatch was 180KG, so he's really down on his numbers at the moment ("Just" 150KG for 2 sets of 3). He was challenging the guys in the gym, for the triples. Clearly he was feeling good and everyone could see it.
However they still bet he couldn't do it. I asked them "Couldn't you see he was CLEARLY going to do it, considering how high the bar went?"
They explained it was a "sacrificial" bet, whereby they bet because they know it would push him to do it. They knew he was good for at least 160KG but they bet anyway because he likes the push.
The entire gym (about 250 SQ/M, with over 50 people inside), went from a bustling market, to pin drop silence. The environment in these training centres is amazing. You could FEEL the intensity and everyone in the gym wanting him to make it.
So basically, he did it and....won 12 bottles of beers. Today, they don't have a morning session so, he's probably still asleep right now.
